I wanted this table to be both inexpensive and simple. All the goodies on the table were purchased from our local grocery. The goodies included blueberry muffins, strawberry heart-shaped fruit kabobs, strawberry milk and Valentines chocolates. I chose these items so that the table could be used for a Valentine's Day dinner dessert table, a special Valentine's Day brunch, an after-school snack or even for a Valentine's Day playdate. The candy on the table, conversation hearts, wrapped chocolate bars, peppermint marshmallows and cotton candy, could be consumed during the party or could be used as a treat for later. Here is a breakdown of the costs:
Printables: FREE!
Strawberries: $2.99
Muffins: $3.29
Chocolates: $3.99
Strawberry Syrup: $2.50
Conversation Hearts: $2.00
Chocolate Bars: $3.00
Marshmallows: $2.00
Cotton Candy: $1.00
Ribbon: $5.00
Total: $25.77
Most of the other items used on the table were leftover from previous parties. The straws were extras I had from the Christmas Vintage Red Truck Party. The doily garland was leftover from a Kindergarten Mommies Back-to-School Brunch and the paper fans I made for a teacher's appreciation brunch.
Dressing up simple items, like putting the Valentine's chocolates in individual serving spoons, makes everyday items feel special. Also, cutting the strawberries into heart shapes instantly turned fruit into a Valentine's Day treat.
